In the moment of silence, one can observe and search for moments of uncertainty. Behind silence, there are possibilities of discovery and patience. This project arose in correlation to Composition IV sketches where both projects seek a figure-ground relationship and resulted in negative space or a void shaped by the figure. The figure is the architecture; however, the project is not about the architecture. It is just that we cannot escape architecture; without architecture, the void does not exist. The darkness is not simply to hide the architecture and defined the negative space, but it is part of the concept. Darkness reflects and references the idea of ambiguity and oblivion, often described darkness as absent and silence in other projects.
