This project is a continuation of the Topography and Space 4D series, in terms of visual, but not content. It starts out capturing a still photograph, and then slowly diminishing its details. The computer decides how much to take away, and I, who operate the computer, decide which part and how much is enough. This could be considered an authorless approach, as the final product is produced with minimal control by the author. As an author or artist, I tend to let a portion of my work be created randomly, so I can create works that are one of their kind, and cannot be reproduced. It is a process of discovery: what I create is chaotic, and at times cannot be recognized as what it is. A chaotic city that is peopleless and objectless is more of a figure-ground signifier, and so, in a way, I seek an abstract intervention space through the process of manipulation.
